I'm not going to go into any depth on the usage of the program. As
I am not even the programmer, I don't even know if I should be
adding this file, but for all of you out there who can't yet read
kanji that well, you will need to know a few things. For those of
you who can read kanji, there is a file called MANUAL.KAN that you
can load once you have the program booted up.
First of all, there are 10 files including this one and the MANUAL
noted above. There is one other sample document. In order to run
the program you double click on the GFABASRO.PRG and it will bring
up a file selector. You should then select WORDUTA3.GFA. It will
then start loading fonts etc. and load the program. When you get
into the program hit the help key, and it will give you a list of
commands in English. That is about it.
I will reiterate my feelings that this is only a novelty. It is
useless as a real word processer first of all because there is no
printing and secondly because the front end processer is very
cumbersome to use. As you can see, the code has not been compiled.
I don't know much about the laws, but if somebody could get it
printing, it would certainly be worth it for some people. I don't
think it's legal to actually change the code and then rerelease
it, but you could release the printing code seperatly and then
anybody who has both could merge them with a text editor. One
note, if anybody does work on printing, I believe that you will
need to get a seperate printer font unless you want print outs to
look like screen dumps. If anybody does want to work on it, I may
be able to get such a PD Kanji printer font, but no promises.
Have fun.
